A Christmas Tail—‘Dogs for Dogs’

Each and every holiday season, the good folks of Okeechobee step up and provide food and gifts for the needy. The good folks of Okeechobee are some of the most generous at this wonderful time of the year. There is, however, one more segment of the population that could use a helping hand. The abandoned, abused, neglected, unwanted and orphaned animals are sometimes forgotten at this time. So,.George and Madalyn Duport of George’s Hot Dogs proudly sponsored the first ever annual, “A Christmas Tail - Dogs for Dogs.”

George’s Hot Dogs, 3603 Hwy. 441 S. collected monetary donations, pet food and supplies for most of December. Many of you donated at George’s Hot Dogs for the Humane Society Pet Rescue No kill, non-profit shelter. See the results in the photo below.

What's new at the Humane Society? Here are some pictures from our work in progress at the shelter. We have new kenneling, added runs, training yard, etc. Kennels were donated by The Jane Bicks Foundation. Click any photo to enlarge.
