News About Us

News about us: We are in the process of expanding our facility to the building next door. We need financial support and volunteer help to do repairs to the building before we can move in. When we move in to our new office our now office will become a place to house the rescued kitties and cats. Painter, flooring person, cleaners needed. Need: Paint, wood for handicap ramp, bathroom fixtures for handicap, kitchen stove, refrigerator, washer, electric dryer, office equipment and furniture. Please help us to help the abused, neglected, unwanted pets of Okeechobee.

Zen-K9 donates time to Humane Society

The photo below shows Zen-K9 animal behaviorist professionals. They have been giving their time, one day a week, to help our dogs understand what we want them to do. We so appreciate their time and effort on our behalf. We plan to start a seminar for the community in the near future—watch for the announcement. What's new at the Humane Society? Here are some pictures from our work in progress at the shelter. We have new kenneling, added runs, training yard, etc. Kennels were donated by The Jane Bicks Foundation. Click any photo to enlarge.

Wednesday 1 till 5pm Sunday & Monday Closed. Closed every holiday!
